What makes something real?
I’ve been talking with my therapist about writing over the last few months. I mentioned last week’s Vibe Check to her, and how I realized that sometimes when I sit down to write about something, I totally black out. I lose track of time, and all of a sudden, I read what I’ve written and think, “What?”
It’s a strange process.
I described it to her as a flow of consciousness, where “I” am not really present. It’s my conscious mind streaming energy and ideas to my hands, through my fingers, and into words. Only after I re-read it, does my brain catch up.
It’s a strange feeling.
I look at my words and see myself. I see ideas, concepts, conclusions, and lessons that I didn’t know were within me. Only by reading them do I believe them. Only by re-reading them do I understand them. Only by seeing my words do I see myself.
In a strange way, I’m starting to see that “I” exist by writing. I don’t exist so much in my thoughts. By translating something unseen, like my conscious feeling (soul, spirit, intuition)—and processing through my body into words—I become real.
The connection between soul and reality is life’s biggest question. A question I believe I’ve answered through words.
It’s what I do with them now that matters.
Creating your own reality is the vibe of the next couple of months.
We’re heading into Virgo season, which is diligent, detailed, and directive. It’s all about systems and maps and organizing a way forward.
Virgo season (according to the Sun) starts on Friday, but it’s extra important because the new moon on Saturday is also in Virgo. Double whammy—sun and new moon in Virgo. Not only do we enter the season and settle into Virgo vibes for a month, we set intentions under a new moon in Virgo too.
This week and month are super-charged with doing energy.
Not to make this an astrology newsletter, but this is important.
This Virgo new moon (Aug 22) is followed by ANOTHER Virgo New Moon next month (Sept 21). This is extremely rare.
There’s more.
September is also eclipse season—which is a nice way of saying big changes. Eclipses bring extreme, life-pivoting events that shake things up. They bring things in, and take things out. It starts with a solar eclipse early month (Sept 7), and then a lunar eclipse later in the month (Sept 21). And yep, the lunar eclipse is in Virgo.
OK one more detail.
This eclipse energy is the same as March, when we had another lunar eclipse in Virgo. See what’s happening? The energy is a carry-over, so whatever was happening in mid-March of this year, picks-up and continues in September. We’ve had a few months to adjust, learn, and process, and now it’s time to carry on.
This is all to say that creating something—creating reality—IS the vibe. The energy supports your intentions, and will bring in big changes to guide you forward.
Virgo is ruled by Mercury, planet of communication, so your words, visions, and expression of what you want to create—putting the pieces together—is amplified.
What will you do with the energy?

Will you cruise through on autopilot and let life happen to you?
Will you look deep inside, and work with the energy to create something purposeful?
